The types of tiles that we use.

Before we created adhesives, natural resources paved the only way to tile. In Israel every single building is tiled, almost always floor to ceiling. The alleyways, the streets, almost everywhere you look is tiled.
With their traditional style of laying, sand and cement is used. This style is still most commonly used there today. The process is slower and more labor intensive, as it involves a sand base and laying tiles with cement. Each tile is laid individually and leveled with a mallet, tapping it into place. Both the floors and the walls are tiled in this process.
Cement was made out of lime and water. Tiles came in varieties, but always natural stone. Commonly it was Marble, Sandstone, Flagstone (concrete and sand - bolato - manufactured in Israel

We specialise in large format tiles. Equipped with all the essential tools, experience and capable skills to ensure a smooth finish.
These tiles are BIG! It’s a 3 - 4 person job, and no matter the size you’re after, we can do the job.

Do you desire the wood aesthetic without the natural degradation of wood? Then it’s wood plank tiles you’re after. The idea is to replicate real wood. They are harder wearing than natural wood and require less maintenance. In theory, it lasts a lifetime.
Below are some ideal scenarios where wood plank tiles are suitable:
Good for pets - Less scratches/markings on surface
Timber look in wet areas (bathroom/laundry) without facing rot issues
Easy to install underfloor heating e- No compromise on heat
No maintenance - sanding and polishing

Mosaics are fun! They’re colourful, they’re creative, they are the WOW factor.
It is an attractive feature in the home. Often used as a feature wall to either add an accent or bring in complementary colours.
Mosaic tiles come in a range of shapes, sizes and materials. Often glass, natural stone (marble) or porcelain. It is also recommended that mosaic tiles are epoxy grouted.
Traditionally, mosaic tiles are laid in separate little tiles, often creating art installations, pictures & designs, bordering rooms or creating rug looks on tile floors. With the evolution of technology, what we now most commonly work with are mosaics on mesh backings. Allowing for a lot more ease and a quicker installation.

We are well experienced in working with natural stone. Often these require specific tools for cutting, such as a waterstore. We have the right tools and the capable skills to lay natural stone.
Common natural stones are Sandstone, Limestone, Marble and Slate Tiles. There are many other options and we are always open to discussing what you want and what will work best in your home.
Swimming pools are often tiled with natural stone coping tiles. As a specialty of ours we can guarantee a beautiful looking pool side.
An option we offer is a yearly revisit to clean and reseal your natural stone. Unlike tiles, natural stones gather wear and tear. In order to maintain the pristine new-look, they require maintenance. Think of it like a yearly w.o.f. on your stones.

Porcelain tiles are our most commonly used tile. As they come in a variety of sizes and designs as a reasonable cost.
It has replaced ceramic within the market. As it is more durable and hard wearing. Porcelain also carries the colour right through the tile, unlike ceramic where colour covers only the surface. So any unlikely chips won’t show a colour difference.
Something that may surprise you is the weight of a porcelain tile. Sometimes walls need to be strengthened to hold them on. Talk to us to see if your wall needs strengthening before moving forward.
